Today’s post was inspired by an email regarding airport fashion. Or ‘what to wear to the airport to be the styin’, profiln’ chick you truly are’! I didn’t read further as I’ll make you a $2 bet what it said! Ready? WEAR jeans or leggings, a scarf that can be used as a throw or even a pillow(!), a jacket or cardi and flats that are easy to doff (=take off). DON’T WEAR anything that is too fussy (omg guys! especially when going through security! like duh!) (sarcasm intended), too high (as in heels), and perhaps it may have said ‘no tracksuits’ depending on what line of the juicy they stand on.
Puhleeze! How about something novel and needed like how to cram 10 outfits into a carry-on? Or how about this one: why is it that I meticulously plan & pack but still end up wearing 10% of what I brought?
I did a search and came up with some recent celeb airport (LAX) pics: The first being Jessica Simpson (source: X17online.com). I don’t particularly care for her sense of style of recent (I used to. I want to…) , but (from the waist up) LOVE IT. Fab. i love this yellow capelet/poncho-thing! I say from the waist up because she probably has on some 4″ platforms which, to me, are hardly airport friendly.
Next:
Paris Hilton (source: X17online.com) wearing one of a gazillion tracksuits. FAIL. Sorry. Trust me, I own more than a half dozen 2B Free matchy matches, but this is so lazy. Try and incorporate something in your outfit that can be worn again on your trip (=less packing) or in the least, to catch a meal when you land. Unless that meal is fast food; then I suppose it doesn’t matter.
I love me some Nicolette Sheridan (source: celebutopia.com). Her body is slammin’! This outfit is FAB, again, FROM THE WAIST UP. Who wears overtheknee, stiletto boots to the airport? Nicolette, that’s who! Better choices: short ropers/motorcycle boots, ballet or buckle flats (just put a pair of sockies on your purse for your cold tootsies on flight).
Next up: “What’s in, what’s out,” according to Nov’s Bazaar mag.
It’s a FAIL, though. Indigo colored jeans? Unflattering skinny style? It’s hard to dress for your body type especially when you see an item or outfit that you covet, right? I just don’t see Lauren Conrad as this style icon that some people hold her out to be. **shrugs** (source: celebrity-gossip.net)
