Today you will hear about a different “cleanse”; this isn’t the crazy one that requires starlets to fast and exist on nothing more water flavored with cayenne pepper, syrup & lemon. No, this one is intended for health. Specifically, the health of the liver and to a degree, the kidneys & skin. Sure, you can still lose weight but the end result is to detoxify the bod. This was given to me by my health professionals but is also posted to a greater degree on www.thecleanse.com.
2 ORANGES (peeled), 1/2 GRAPEFRUIT (peeled), 1/2 LEMON (peeled), 1 1/2-2 inches GINGER ROOT (peeled), 1/2 Tsp WHOLE CLOVES, 1 GARLIC CLOVE, 5+ strands PARSLEY, 1 TB MAPLE SYRUP, pinch (or more) CAYENNE PEPPER, 1-2 TB EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL. Blend for 2mins. Strain the pulp. Drink.
Upon waking in the a.m., brush your teeth then drink 8 oz water. Make and drink the ‘liver flush’ shake above. Do not eat or drink anything else for about 3 hours.
Do this for 4 days.
Do not have any fried foods, alcohol, caffeine or sodas, dairy products, and sugar (minimize, at least) for 4 days.
After the 4 days, the rules above apply, but instead drink the ‘master cleanse’ water throughout your day for the next 10 days:
32 oz WATER, 1 LEMON (peeled), 1/2 Tsp WHOLE CLOVES, pinch or more of CAYENNE PEPPER. You may strain the pulp (or not).
Tip: You can cut & peel everything the night before, and just place in a bag or bowl ready to go in the a.m.
Tip: Keep your ginger root in the freezer. It’ll keep longer and be easier to use.
Tip: You can modify the drink to suit your dietary needs and taste preferences within reason. (i.e., if you are allergic to garlic, cut way back if used at all. If you really like it, add more. )
Tip: You will hate this drink at first. Trust me, it gets better. I don’t even strain it nowadays when I make it!
