Add to Technorati Favorites practice and all is coming…

Pattabhi Jois, otherwise known as “Guruji”, passed away today in Mysore, India.
If you practice the Ashtanga form of yoga, you KNOW of Guruji. If you teach it, you probably know him directly.
He was 93 years old-doesn’t look a day over 60-something (must be something to this kind of practice, eh?).
My teacher knew him, practiced over in India, and thus I know plenty Guruji-ism’s. One of which is “Do your practice and all is coming,” which is especially useful (hopefully) when you (okay, me) start whining about why you (’me’) can’t do a particular movement the way you are supposed to.
I haven’t posted about it in awhile but I’m now in Series 2 and have been attending the full 2nd series classes once a week (killer).
Ashtanga is not for everyone; but it is for me. It’s not meditating and it is more reminiscent of my gymnastic/tumbling practices than it is of anything else. Perfect for my level of attention and…well, ability to be quiet (veryyyyyy harddddd).
I am thankful for this yoga.
My wish is that his soul will truly be and live on at peace.
