Today I went for a follow-up Ayuverdic consult. Not sure what your dosha is (vata? pitta? kapha?) or what Ayurvedic philosophy & medicine is? THIS is a fabulous institute. Look up Deepak Chopra. etc.
Anybody who is interested in health would surely be fascinated with this. If it’s not illegal (or fattening) or harmful (it isn’t, under expert direction, not DIY!), then why not?!?! It can only help. And it has.
So while I try and shift my balances to help with digestion, including making a specially prescribed and designed tea blend, here is my shake for today that was designed by my practitioner:
1 C water + small handful of unsalted raw almonds + 1 scoop of whey protein (vanilla) + 2 TB Flaxseed meal + approx 1/2 C of mixed berries + TB Barlean’s (brand) essential oil =YUMMY! Blend away!
Most everything can be purchased at the local market, or Trader Joe’s even better, with exception of the Barlean’s “Greens” + Liquid Essential Minerals…neither of which I have right now. If you are not a vegan-add an egg. She supposedly lost 5lbs on this which is good to know b/c…I may have kicked my fat phobia to the curb but it still calls out now and then.
Yesterday’s juice: 1/2 Grapefruit + 2 Oranges + 1 inch Ginger root + handful Spinach + handful Parsley + TB Barlean’s oil.
(I’m supposed to avoid strong citrus-y fruits like lemons…and now grapefruit…so I won’t be having that one for awhile.)
Craig Ballantyne of TurbulenceTraining.com wrote in his blog that he had a late night vegan meal of cereal mixed with applesauce. Interestingly like an apple crisp.
One for the “huh. I didn’t know that” group: Here is a LINK to an article about an herb that is good for you.
Investigate bodyweight training. Especially if you are female. And scared of bulking up.
TIP: go to Youtube.com and do your research for FREE. Design a little workout program. Get familiar with what the exercises actually look like in realtime.
Above all, the one thing that I hear over and over again is YOU CANNOT OUT TRAIN A BAD DIET. In other words, you can’t eat whatever you want and spend an hour on the stairmaster thinking that it equals out. If it did, everybody at your gym would be in stellar shape. And they’re not. The only people that can do this are teenagers. Hmpf! I do believe in the 80-20 rule (or more like the 90-10 rule, that IRL becomes 80-20) which is eat very well for 80% of the time and the other 20% eat what your body feels like eating. In time, I promise, it won’t feel like a double double animal style. A ‘cheat meal’ once a week =Good. A ‘cheat meal’ once a day =Bad.
And here’s some womanly inspiration from a GORGEOUS 50-something year old who when asked what her “secret” was replied that it wasn’t what she put on, but put in. As in her mouth. But alas, who can escape cellulite I ask you??!
DRINK WATER DRINK WATER DRINK WATER DRINK WATER DRINK WATER.
