Who knew?!

Who knew, not only that Dita does pilates and Ashley runs (!) but these outfits qualify as ‘exercise wear’?!

*The following excerpts were taken from Exhale’s e-zine this week: “SLOW DOWN!  Winter wants us to slow down. The problem is that we live in a world that asks us to function on a Spring/Fall pace, while all of nature goes to sleep during the Winter. We tend to go against our own human nature to keep pressing forward, get a million things crossed off our lists. Part of finding balance in life is realizing how to function with nature and get our to-dos finished at the same time! We can slow down and still be productive. Think about what your body is really asking you for and try to honor that. Try to understand that slowing down is part of the cycle and one we must honor to maintain optimum health. Identify the areas in your life where you can give yourself a little “chill” time to satisfy your body’s desire to rest. We don’t have to stop being healthy just because we are slowing down…
EAT UP! Everything in winter grows down, so naturally potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squash, are everywhere! …Focus on whole grains, steamed veggies, and sweet potatoes. This provides a beautiful array of colors, are warm and hearty, and packed with healthy goodness. Even though winter foods may seem daunting, don’t be afraid!  Keep them simple and they will be naturally delicious and waist friendly!…
Try and understand that winter is here to serve you, to center you, to challenge you, and to help you appreciate all the life that is around you the rest of the year. So get cozy everyone, enjoy your down-time, your food, and your loved ones…Spring will be here before you know it.”

* Are you balanced? Your chakras, is what I’m refering to, silly! And no, I’m not. There are 7. I know that. There are several on-line quick quizzes that will tell you which ones need stimulation and which ones are…overly stimulated depending on your current lifestyle. I’m intrigued by the ROOT Chakra; it’s the “grounding” chakra. Apparently things like yoga, color therapy, dance  and affirmations (hearing a LOT about that this week…must be a sign…). Very interesting.
