Add to Technorati Favorites Fit Chick Friday - Feb 5th & a new fab forty year old fit chick

I’m getting re-acquainted with the therapy ball for exercising. The exercise options are endless. Or at least enough to fill a good 30mins.

I’m also trying to do intervals with the weight machines and dumbell exercises I do…do. Here’s what to do:

Pick an interval time, either 15 seconds (for dumbells) or 30 seconds (for weight machines). Let’s pick 30 seconds.

Select a weight that you usually can do without jeopardizing your form. Perform the exercise for 30 seconds counting the number of repetitions you’re able to do.

Now rest for 30 seconds.

Repeat 2 or 3 times than move on to the next exercise.

If you can do “30 within 30″, time to increase the weight a bit. If not, this gives you a good objective way to rate your progress and hopefully decrease a bit of the gym boredom b/c it’s like a “game”, right?

I hate her. Sort of. The hate comes from jealousy. Heather just turned 40 years old and celebrated by performing an act on stage at a cirque de peopledoingcrazythingswithscantclothing  show in Vegas. I think it was Ka. A few years ago she took this shot (below) and decided to take up pilates and yoga.

Then during a recent press show junket I heard her say that she had to cut back because her stomach was getting “too flat”. She was too lean.

Yeah. Me too.

Allegedly, she loves organic foods and eating “healthy” as well.

This sounds uncomfortable, and yet…I’m intrigued! I want to incorporate this into my yoga practice.

Did you know it’s National Snack Food Month? Celebrate in style like the hip fit chick you are!

Super Bowl is this weekend! Here are some game day food suggestions: popcorn, flaxseed chips, pita chips, multigrain chips (or multigrain anything!) guacamole (made without sour cream), salsa, soup, shrimp cocktail, bean & brown rice burritos etcetc.

If you are BBQ-ing a great dessert is to do fruit kabobs on the grill and dip ‘em afterwards in marshmellow sauce. No fat!

I’m not going to even suggest that you cut up a bunch of veggies, like carrots and celery, and eat those. Not only is that tip overused and therefore “tired”, but I can’t imagine something so uninspiring as to sit there snacking on raw veggies while watching TV. ((yawn))

If you drink beer, make it of the light variety. If you are trying to cut down on gluten, then wine will be the way to go for you. Either way, for every sip, take 2 sips of water.
