Click here to read the post on which veggies/fruits you *should* be eating. Organically.
Here are additional produce tips:
- Ripen at room temperature: plums, potatoes, cantaloupes, mangoes
- Ripen in a paper bag: nectarines, peaches
- Avoid shriveled/wrinkled or bruised fruit and veggies as well as those with darkened stems
Other than looking for the “ORGANIC” section in your supermarket, you can check out local farm co-ops (you pay a small monthly stipend & then receive a revolving ‘haul’ of goodies monthly) and farmer’s markets. If you live in CA LOOK HERE for listings of markets near you.
If a product contains 70% or less organic ingredients, it cannot say it’s organic on the FRONT display label. (Hmm…guess it can on the back and/or sides…sneaky!)
And if it states it is “organic” it does not mean it’s 100% organic!
